~My True Musical Purpose~

Just to give you a brief history of my "singing" career, let me just start off by saying that singing is what I love to do, but it's not what I love the most.Ok, let me start from the beginning. My parents have told me that I started singing when I was 2 years old. They said that I would sing as loud as I could while stomping my feet to the beat. What's ironic is that I still do that...lol! The thing that shocked my parents was that I sang in tune (well sort of. C'mon I was 2!!!)So ever since then I was involved in Children's choirs basically all my life and I'm glad that my parents made me stay in those choirs because if it weren't for those choir solos that I got, I never would've developed my voice that I have now.

I guess you could say that I made my "debut" when I was 14. I was in a youth musical called "Life On The Edge" and I played the mother (not because of my mad acting skills, but because of the solo that the part came w/ ....go figure) The people at my old church, FBC O'Fallon, had only heard me when I was little, so when I sang my solo in the youth musical I got some pretty weird reactions. haha...now to be honest I don't really like getting compliments because I don't know what to say other than "Thank you" and I always feel like "Thank You" is not enough. I'm weird like that, but anyway, I got all these compliments on how mature my voice had become and how "beautiful" it sounded.

It wasn't until I reached my latter years in highschool that I realized that God was the one who gave me my voice....not Liz. I'm just a tool that is being used by God and I know that He has a bigger plan for me and that is why from now on, I sing only for Christ because He is the only One worth singing for. What's really comforting is that whenever I make a mistake at a concert or on stage that Jesus perfects my worship when He presents it to God. So no matter how bad or good I sound, my worship will still glorify the Lord. So yes...singing is definitely one of my passions, but it's not what I love the most. I love singing for God more than anything and I hope that you feel the same way w/ your abilities!
Have a great week,
*Liz*

SpiritWing

These past 3 months with SpiritWing have been great and I truly enjoy everyone in the group. I have especially enjoyed getting to know Kirstin and Ashley. We traveled to Springfield, MO together and I had a blast w/ those 2.
I have a passion for the Music/Ministry and being in SpiritWing has grown me not only musically, but spiritually as well. It has given me a new meaning for the Music/Ministry. It feeld right being in this group and God has truly blessed me in the short time I have been in the group thus far. I look forward to spending the rest of my college career in this group and I hope to grow even more than I have in the Music/Ministry and I hope to grow more as a person.
When I first entered SpiritWing, I was a bit shy, but now I'm not as shy as I was. I'm more open and more talkative than I was. I guess you could say that Kirstin and Ashley helped me out w/ that...haha....thanks girls ; ) Anyway, I can't tell you how much I love music and how much I love using music to please my God. He is the only One worth singing for and some people don't understand that. Well, I hope this post didn't bore you to tears; it's just how I've been feeling and I just thought I would share my joy w/ you all.
Have a great week!
